Inmate Fedrick's Story

Keep Us Healthy,

My name is Frederick and I am currently housed in a California State Prison.

I’m writing this letter to share my experiences I had with CDC’s medical facility.

In January of 2022 I began to have a sharp pain in my chest then about two days later my back and sides started to hurt along with the left side of my jaw.

I submitted a medical slip they called me in a few days later and the nurse I seen sent me to TTA where I seen a doctor. He asked me what was wrong I explained to him my issues he ordered me to see a dentist. I then had to submit another slip for this and had to wait to see the dentist. In the meantime my back and sides continue to hurt causing me great pain.

Since January of 2022 I’ve submitted several medical slips due to back pain, side pain and chest pain. All they have done was take an X-ray of my hip after I explained again exactly how I’ve been feeling and where it’s been hurting. They gave me a cream which specifically says 

“Do Not Use For Any Outer Parts Of The Body Such As Back, Hip Or Shoulder”

I never did find out what my X-ray results were but between being bounced back and forth from doctor to dentist and finally having several tests done as in stool, urine and blood they were able to determine that I had a bacterial infection which in the very beginning I had told the nurse that I thought I had an infection but was ignored.

I am now after more than 10 month taking antibiotics that are helping and stopped using the useless cream, they gave me.

I think if the doctors had actually listened to me and heard what I was saying that my medical problems would’ve been resolved within a week or less at least much sooner especially if they had done the tests to begin with.
